Rebecca Barson
Public Policy & Advocacy
Rebecca Barson is the founder of RDB Strategies, and her consulting work focuses on policy and advocacy strategies to protect and expand reproductive and maternal health. She has particular expertise in the federal and state funding streams and other financings that support these programs.
Rebecca has 20 years of policy, political, and program experience in women's and reproductive health, including several years at the intersection of policy and operations. She has worked at the national and affiliate levels of Planned Parenthood, serving as the inaugural Director of Health Finance at Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central, and Southern New Jersey, as well as one of the first Strategic Managers for Health Finance at Planned Parenthood Federation of American/Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Rebecca has also worked at the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs; the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association; and Planned Parenthood of Northern New England.
Rebecca earned a Master of Public Health degree, with a concentration in Women's and Reproductive Health, from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Women's and Gender Studies from Williams College. Originally from NJ, Rebecca is very involved in local advocacy in her adopted hometown of Washington, DC and currently serves as Co-Chair of Jews United for Justice's DC Leadership Council.
